god is jennie thank u, next

As if the two’s solitary situation in the dim practice room wasn’t enough provision for him to understand what she had just said. Perhaps, it was her tone and in the way she made her way to the point. The stern that coated her words were foreign to him and it was because he has never received this kind of response from Jennie until now. He found it new, bold, and stupefying.

To him, her cold words and icy stare was able to make the temperature in the room drop quickly before he even realized that he’s seeking blindly for warmth. As if on command, the acclaimed tiger leader’s confidence shrunk to the extent he was rendered mute and his insecurities abruptly grew; mightier than what his placid facade is giving away for her to read. His thin lashes shyly fluttered and his looks strays away onto the waxed floor of the sleek YG practice room. He knew he shouldn’t have asked for more details, he knew he shouldn’t have pressed on that sensitive matter yet his mindlessness got the best of him and it was too late to take his idiotic question back as he scolded himself mentally. Do you still… feel something for me? – stupid move, Hanbin.

The male’s lips almost quivered in slight anxiousness when he began to speak but with a fist’s clench, he was able to reply with the imprudent thoughts that first came to mind. “Okay, I won’t bother you about it again… I’m sorry.”

This is what people expected her to do, expected her to be. This is how she usually was. Yet she was only firm at first before pangs of conscience hit her upon noticing his gaze evidently shying away. It wasn’t the first time he had insisted on knowing how she felt. But it was a first that she’d responded in a way that wasn’t welcoming. Jennie wasn’t such an easy person, and demand wasn’t something she caved into so quickly despite her appreciation for persistence in the belief that continuing obstinately was what gets you to reach a goal. It would have been the case in the very situation if not for what subject the question was shrouded in. Just thinking about expressing herself when she wanted to already left her sighing in exasperation, so when it’s not desired it only had her even more vexed.

Quick to realize her hostile approach, her eyebrows relaxed back. “No!” she exclaimed, rather softly in a manner of urgency to comfort him from her previous animosity. Normally, a pat on the back would tail after but she couldn’t get herself to. “I’m sorry…” her head hung low, and cue the anxious gestures in the form of twiddling her fingers. She wanted to walk out and just hide away but that wouldn’t have made the situation any better. Just that she hated conflict and avoided it as much as she can.

Though she’s kept wondering. Why would he want to know? Why, if he had none to return? “It doesn’t matter anyway…” she said with a tone as low as her confidence which was followed by two words, almost in a whisper, that gave way for her to easily be shot down once again. “…does it?”
