우와.. I can’t believe my little dongsaeng Jennie is already 21. I still remember the little girl I met five years ago.. or was it six? Heol, my memory is failing me. Anyways, I never would have thought we’d grow this close, in all honesty. I heard stories about you and upon first glance, you seemed rather.. intimidating? I was really shy back then, too, which made everything so much harder when it came to warming up to people and such. But boy, was I wrong about you. 

It’s a bit cringeworthy to talk about these things with you now, but.. over the years, you became my biggest support system. We’ve had some very difficult times, especially when we had to watch our own team members go, but the fact that you were still beside me made things bearable. If it was you that left.. I don’t know. I’m not saying the others aren’t as important to me, because they really really really are. I cherish all of you guys like my own sisters, but I just can’t imagine what training in this company would have been like had you not been here with me every step of the way, and that notion will always stand. No matter how old I get, no matter where we stand as a team in the future, I’m going to be stuck right next to you whether you want me to or not! ㅋㅋ 

And of course, as the mat-unnie of the trainees, I expect you to lean on me. Rely on me when things get rough. Talk to me when you’re in trouble. Don’t blame yourself when things don’t seem to be working out. Don’t try to bear all the burden yourself because that’s not how a team works. Capisce? ㅎㅎ Ah – and as for the gifts.. I’m not rich like our sunbaenims or as creative as the others, but I thought very long and hard about these, so you better enjoy them! (ง︡’-‘︠)ง If not, just ask for the gift receipts.. ㅋㅋ Thank you for being in my life, Kim Jennie, and happy 21st birthday. I love you. ♡
